Children and Teen Counselling
Children and teens experience the world in ways that are often complex, emotional, and deeply impacted by their environments. As they grow and develop, they may face challenges that are difficult to express or understand on their own. From anxiety, low self-esteem, and peer pressure, to family changes, school stress, or big emotions, counselling offers a safe, supportive space where young people can explore their feelings, build resilience, and learn healthy ways to cope.
Each child and teen is different, and therapy is tailored to meet them where they are developmentally, emotionally, and socially. For younger children, this may involve play-based therapy, art, or creative expression that helps them process their experiences in ways that feel natural. For teens, sessions may focus more on identity, relationships, stress management, or navigating social and academic pressures. At every age, the goal is to help them feel seen, heard, and supported.
We also collaborate with parents or caregivers when appropriate. This might include sharing strategies to support emotional regulation at home, improving communication, or understanding what your child might be going through. We recognize that when a child struggles, the whole family feels it, and therapy can be a space to bring more understanding and calm into everyone’s daily life.
With consistent support, many children and teens feel more confident in who they are and how they handle life’s ups and downs. Whether your child is dealing with a specific challenge or simply needs a space to talk, child and teen counselling can help them build a stronger foundation for emotional health now and into the future.
